Maybe they'll pick it up after the movie.
or better yet maybe they have a better idea for on line play.
but they likely want to charge us for it.

I remember seeing game play footage of this game a while back.

The game is almost done, heck it is playable. They should do what other companies do, open it up to Beta Testing and let us fans work out the bugs.

I always felt that "Secret of Vulcan Fury" would have been the best ST game ever. A shame that it can't be picked up and finished off.

As for ST Online, I will not hold my breath, I certainly feel it stands a good chance of going the same way as the above.

I'm sure there will be a subscription fee. Hopefully, they'll go a little cheaper route, like $9.99/month. As for story, I hope they continue with what was originally planned. I loved the idea of playing in 25th century.

Star Trek : Online is still in production. Perpetual is no longer involved,.. they sold the source to Cryptic studios (think Crysis)..

the perpetual Star Trek Online forums have closed but the entire forum is backed up and is how hosted by Chessmess over at StarTrek-Games.com and is now called the STO-Refuge.

Cryptic is very tight lipped about ST:O and won't comment on actually developing the title, however they won't deny making it either.. on a message board at Cryptic, a STG member posted about Star Trek Online, a Cryptic person stated that they can't comment on Star Trek : Online (notice how Cryptic corrected the game title) and that any future projects will be announced at a later time..

which means that Star Trek : Online is being developed, but they are not commenting..

I can't wait for E3 2009 to come out to showcast the game.
