Although I like the movie for what it is, the transwarp-beaming part as well as Gaila felt more like a weak hommage than a continuation/renewal of Orions and transporters, two things that habe been with Trek since day 1.
Gaila was just a dumb college girl painted in green colour, while the stories about Orions from ENT were based upon the TOS-Orions but also dared to add something new, i.e. male Orions and the matriarchy revelation in "Bound".
Jsut compare it with TNG, they took the Romulans and Klingons from TOS but were brave enough to slightly change them.

I'd seen it three times by May 13th.

I haven't seen it since, and I missed my chance to witness the IMAX experience, but I've considered going back to see it every weekend over the last month. It's more appealing than newer releases.

Hmmm about 6 times! I was lucky enough to see in IMAX! I still don't mind watching it again. I remember when I was a kid I would come home from school and pop in my VHS of Star Wars everyday. I just can't get enough of that sci-fi, but I'm kinda picky about what kind of sci-fi I watch.

3 more times (19). Last one this afternoon (had the day off) - and I can attest that ST is a weekend movie experience for most. On the Saturday and Sunday viewing in the afternoon the attendance averaged around 30-35. Today was just me and 5 others.

This is sort of off topic but when do most people get to the movie theater? I guess I'm afraid I'll miss the beginning so I usually am in my seat with around 10-15 minutes to spare.
