Transformers 2 will win ALL technical awards next year as far as I'm concerned.

But Star Trek will be nominated just as many times for just as many categories. And will probably be nominated for more because it has better acting and a better story.

Still, there's a chance they might pick up a supporting actor nomination - probably for Urban or Quinto, at a guess.

I think there's a chance Orci/Kurtzman can get a nomination for best original screenplay, the way Tarantino/Avery did for 'Pulp Fiction'. Acting nominations i doubt. Best picture? Noway. Musical score and Visual effects are other possibilities.

I can see Star Trek winning for cinematography. While we all got a bit tired of the lens flares, I suspect the Academy will be appreciative.
