Small children explode plenty already and don't need encouragement. Just ask any parent with a colicky kid. And it don't smell too good, neither.

Star Trek's strongest stories came in a default "Trilogy" of Star Trek II, III, and IV though somewhat loosely.

I favor a trilogy. Keeping the door open for another ten movies will result in some movies sucking. Make three good ones. Scrutinize the hell out of the stories. Proof-read the ever loving crap out of it for continuity. Use focus groups including die-hard Trekkies, moderates and Sci-Fi general fans in addition to a separate set of average Janes and Joes who never watched Star Trek to keep the broad appeal.

If they are smart, the writers, producers, research analysists and market high speed gurus should be reading these forums as they are a good way to refine material and measure Trek 'values'. Trends analysis and measures of effect. Oh wow, what a concept? Here you go, writers. Read what we're saying!

I think that the villains should be a mystery. There should be false leads as to who the villains are but the whole thing should be a mystery.

If JJ directs again, this track should rule, since he's the king of mysterious plot lines (Lost, etc.).

guys sorry about my obsession with klingons , i just want to see them again so badly, cant imagine a bigger foe for kirk
