Default More progress on my soon to be in progress fanfilm....LOL!

Well, I've been heavily learning the 3D character animation and modeling program: iClone 3 . I upgraded and bought the full version of iClone 3 PRO, and have now been spending the last few hours downloading patches (lousy connection) to update the proggie.

The bad news is, all the characters I created and the props have been erased. Well, not too much of a biggie problem because there weren't that many to begin with.

But, in the interim...here are some images of Apollo and Starbuck about to go into battle....with costumes I recreated, and the custom made (if very simplistic) blaster for each of them.

Once I get cracking into iClone 3 PRO (should be like falling off a horse), things oughtta progress really.....progressively.

If I really wanted to, I could facemap the original actors onto the 3D characters, but I'm not sure that'd be a good route to take. Hmmmm.....imagine the possibilities ....I could even resurrect old Adama and Baltar. But, like I said, that is a tricky/risky route......even though it is just a fanfilm, there could be ramifications.

Thanks, josh.

If all goes well, it will be a relatively fast (and perhaps painless) process.

I am also constructing props and ships....I am currently working on the Colonial Viper, and unless I miss my guess, I will be able to animate it by attaching it to a pilot character....so the ships will be flown (literally) by the seat of the characters' pants.

LOL! Is this A Film You Entirely Dreamed Up, or is it based on some type of show?

This will be a project based on my fanfiction called "Battlestar Galactica: Dark Exodus", a fan fiction based on the continuing adventures of the original 1978 series.

UPDATE:

Here's what I did in just a few short hours with iClone 3 PRO....my as yet to be completed Colonial Viper....fins and engine nacelles....

Pretty frackin' nifty eh?

Yup dont use any real images from any of the show. People, ships nor textures. You must hand create everything. I think most of the scifi shows like that dont mind fanfic so long as its all original and you dont do commercial in any way shape or form.

Yeah, I didn't think that faces of actual actors would be acceptable...and I've been doing all the design by hand...via mouse.

GREAT NEWS:

Found ALL the characters I'd created previously before upgrading to iClone 3 PRO. (Just did a system search---DUH!) Now I don't have to recreate them.

As a precaution, I've backed 'em all up to an external HDD.

Soon as I get a few more key elements in place....and once I pick up and learn Crazy Talk 6, which is a companion program that allows me to have the characters lip synch (and have facial expression) to recorded dialogue.
