Insulting rant? All I've heard is that he thought the new E was ugly. I also think the new E is ugly. Great movie, seen it 4 times, don't like how the (CGI) model spaceship looks. If there's a different rant I'm unaware of, ignore me

Wait, so you liked NV until you heard the creator didn't like something you liked, and now suddenly NV is bad? That sounds illogical...

I thought Matt Jeffries did the Phase 2 design . . I may be wrong.

Matt Jeffries DID do the Phase II design. The TMP refit is essentially Mr. Jeffries' design but was detailed by Mr. Probert and company.

That was my understanding.

When is the second half of "Blood and Fire" supposed to be released?

Those nacelles don't quite work with such a still very TOS saucer and secondary hull. Would probably have been better to retain nacelles closer to the TOS ones.

Apart from that, not really very different.

A refit is a long process that usually leaves a ship in docks for at least a year. When the 5 year mission ended Enterprise was dry docked for nearly 2 years for her refit.

Just the propsed nacelle change would alter the way Enterprise travels at warp and the stress points on the hull. This is just a fan attempt at making a more logical bridge between TOS and TMP. Phase 2 was never released officially. While I appreciate what they are doing on their own dime and appreciate the show for it's own merits, I don't think they could reconcile the structure and interior changes if E just pulled into a local starbase for repairs and emerged 8 weeks later looking completely different.

I think James Cawley should make a Star Blazers live action series. I would cast him as Derek Wildstar.

He's way too old for Derek Wildstar-Wildstar is a young ensign in his early to mid 20's, Cawley is in his thirties.
