I'm kind of a Lone Ranger Trekkie these days. There aren't really any others left around these parts. A lot of the people around here liked the movie though. So liking Star Trek doesn't get you the weird looks and "you're one of those loonies?" chuckles that it once did.

By family do you mean your parents or your siblings?

If siblings, well ... (shouldn't that answer your own question?)

If parents, well, don't they have anything they like (such as certain movies or actors/actresses, sports teams, etc) that you might think is a little excessive? Ask them how liking the Star Trek movie and an actor in it is different from that (but ask nicely; don't throw the question down like a guantlet).

Schoolmates found out I speak some Klingon. They always greeted me "nuqneH" and "Qapla'", but I never found out if that was meant to be mean or friendly...

I'm not really troubled by others for being a trekkie. I have a hard time being bisexual, so even so I understand what you're going through.

I Never had a problem, people like me for me and not what I enjoy to watch and I never cared for those that judge you for that. All my close friends don't even watch Star Trek , we have other things incommen. Don't worry about it. It is nice to have someone you share star Trek with and that why I am here.

I'm a 18 year old female and just seeing the new movie turned me into a fan of star trek. I watch TOS everyday and I will look up anything star trek related.

Being part of the younger generation, do you think more people who are younger who have seen the movie will start liking Star Trek? Do you know anyone who has experience this?
