Spok, here's my words of comfort. I'm 20 years old, I have never had a girlfriend, and I'm happy. Don't let the fact that you don't have a girlfriend get you down, from what I hear they just take all your money anyway.

And btw, as someone else mentioned earlier, your teenage years will be the toughest years of your life. It is a training ground, to temper you and forge you into the individual you will one day become. In a way, it's very similar to the new Star Trek movie, in that you will have to face your greatest challenges to become the man you were always meant to be. Take it from your username's perspective. Whenever someone mistreats you, remember that Spock went through the same crap when he was young, and look at how he turned out. He became the greatest and most legendary Star Trek character ever.

As I said, I'm 20 years old, and have just recently passed the trials of my teenage years. I know it feels like you're in a pitch black room with no way out right now, but give it some time, and you WILL find your way out and make it out on top, I can PROMISE you that. Just hold on a little longer.

And finally, my last words of advice, find someone to talk to, someone you can share everything with. Call them a confident, call them a friend, call them whatever you like, but have someone who you can bond with socially. You will need as much help as you can get in the coming years. Remember, even Spock needed someone, in his case, it was a guy named Kirk.

Well, I'm out of air. I hope I helped a little bit.

Oh, you're a girl? Never mind. Throw all that out, I still haven't figured out how girls work yet. I still wish I could help, though! Well, I guess part of my message is salvageable. Especially the last paragraph before I ran out of air. And I actually think that from what I've heard, being a girl, your teenage years are much more difficult than mine were. As a guy, my troubles were more just trying to find out who I am, and generally survive the battlefield that was middle school and high school. For girls, I've heard it's much worse, but I'm sure you already knew that.

Well, all I really know to say is, this phase you're going through right now is only temporary. Just hang tight, okay? And don't let what others say or do have any impact on you. The fact that you cracked up when I accidentally called you a guy shows that you are capable of making the best of things, and not letting it get to you. Just apply that to the rest of your life. I'll check in later to see if you're doing any better.

I know the feeling lol. With a name like trekie. As for feeling ugly, I felt the same. If you want to talk about it, PM me. There is something my husban said. The ugly duckling has not realized she has become swan.

Yes, I know. That's pretty much the way my life is too. It sucks being Quasimodo doesn't it? What sucks even more is being Quasimodo in a sea of Esmeralda's. I understand completely. At least you're not the Lone Ranger. I hope things change for you. They never did for me, and now it's too late. There are some emotions I can't even feel anymore. It's unfortunate that we live in a world where what's on the outside seems to matter more that what's on the inside, but we do. Hopefully the world will grow up someday, and people will begin to see the things that have true worth. But most people wouldn't know a real diamond if they held it in their hand. As long as that's the case, those of us who's looks don't conform to societies idea of what's beautiful will suffer. The only consolation we have is that we don't have to do it alone.
