Hello, I'm shopping for a new T.V. and I need some advice. I have a 52" RCA projection tv now, so it would have to be at least that big. It is now time to get a high defination TV, and I don't really know what or which. Any advice?

We are happy with our Vizio. Make sure it is 1080P. Look at the contrast ration. The higher the number the better, example 2,000,000/1. You will need HDMI inputs, but I think they all do these days. The more HDMI inputs, the better. You will need them to take full advantage of BluRay. LCD is better than Plasma for bright rooms. I don't personally like DLP. Samsung has a new HDTV (called LED) that is only 1.2" thick and has an incredible picture. You can get a 55" for around 3K.

Yes, I saw the LED model yesterday, very sweet. Unfortunatley, we can't spend that much money. I'll have to settle for something a little less money.

Make a few calls to your local TV repair shop / service center. Find out which makes and models show up there on a regular basis... Believe me, you get a repair guy on the phone and ask him which units suck, he'll talk your ear off! Mark those TV's off your list. Then, just look at which one seems to have the best picture and sound to you.

I got a Samsung Plasma TV, a 50" and I love it!!! It does Sstar Trek really well. I also got a wonderful Samsung BluRay player. has anyone bought the Star Trek Movies in BluRay yet? The new player plays Netflex through it, and I love that!!!
