Yes, it is not like these awards mean much. But they usually have better picks than most of the more prestigious awards. Andwe can all vote (many times
) to decide the winners! The list of nominees has been released, and Star Trek leads the way as far as movies go, with 5 nominations in 4 categories. Quote:

I wished they meant more too.

Well, I gotta give the Best Actor to Heath Ledger. As much as I love the nuTrek, Heath's Joker performance was one for the ages.

I refuse to be a part of any "award" that is sponsored by a network that promotes wrestling, and pseudo-science like ghost hunting plumbers, and dares to call themselves the "science fiction" channel.
(spit!)

Voting has started. http://www.airlockalpha.com/node/6474
You can vote once a day till July 25. For a vote to be valid, you have to vote in at least 75% of the categories.

I hope Gillian Anderson wins it then. FYI - the results mean literally nothing if each person can vote every single day in each category.

![]() Well TBH, the competition in the field of big screen SF/fantasy female roles is usually not all that strong. Apparently, Dakota Fanning missed making the top 5 for voicework in "Coraline" by a single vote. http://www.airlockalpha.com/node/6446 I haven't even seen the X-Files movie, even though I used to be an X-Phile many years ago (although a moderate one). They screwed up the mythology really badly in the last few seasons, from what I've heard of the movie, it seemed equally lame... Is it worth watching at all?

The X-Files movie isn't to everyone's taste, but since the competition is weak, I'd send it her way simply because in general she's a better actress than the rest. Cate Blanchett excepted, but I didn't enjoy Benjamin Button and her performance there was a bit off for me.
