Actually, they just did... the crater they smashed into, is one of those where the sun's rays are blocked by the rim of it, combined with it's angle in relation to the sun. So, the sun never shines there. (Part of the reason they did this, was to find out if there was ice under the surface there, where the sun can't reach it.) LOL
