Default Live Music...

It's the best!!

I'm sure like everyone, we all have a few groups, bands, artists etc that we are really fans of and that we hope we can see live.

Amongst mine, I have been longing to see four in particular - The Killers, Bruce Springsteen, Fleetwood Mac and The Counting Crows.

By some fortuitous turn, in 2009 I'm going to have seen all of them live in my hometown!! And these are not groups that come around every weekend to where I live. I still have to pinch myself that I'm actually seeing them, not only at all, but in the SAME YEAR!!!

(I'm gonna see Stevie Nicks from the the centre of the second row!!!)

Anyway, got me thinking - what's the best live music event you've ever been to. A big festival, an intimate gig or inbetween? Are you a fan of live music or not?

So far, my favourite of them all has been a small one by Willy Vlautin of the band Richmond Fontaine. A very, very small gig in a terrific cavern style venue called The Arches. Only about 100+ people and a truly magical night where we were all kept rapt by this man and his stories.

Man, that's awesome! I'd love to see each of those acts! Enjoy the show, Kevin. That won't be hard to do from the second row!

The best? Hmmm. Probably Woodstock 2 (the muddy one, not the nasty one). Or perhaps The Dead at the Knick (the shows got released as "Dozin' at the Knick), or kd lang.

I got to see Little Richard live on my Birthday two Octobers ago....AWESOME!!!

I would love to see the Rolling Stones; Aerosmith or Fleetwood Mack; maybe the Moody Blues...almost any band that is at least ten years old...and Rock and Roll!

In my life, I've only been to very few major live shows.... The Eagles (1995), Don Henley (1989...my first concert), and KISS (Psycho Circus tour).

But, the nice thing is, my profession is nothing but live shows. I put one on every Fri, Sat, Sun afternoon....and whenever my boss calls on me to substitute for someone at another show.

I've actually never been to a concert. lol

I'm jealous of my dad, he's been to a Doors concert, 2 Pink Floyd concerts, a Nirvana concert, and a few others.

I've been to the Rammstein concert last weekend.

You may think about the band whatever you like (definitively not everyone's taste), but the live-show with all these special effects is unbeatable.

I read somewhere that Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer and Anthrax were going to do some shows together. I'm so there for that!

I've seen a Slayer DVD - it was...........different!! The blood effects at the end were something I'd not seen before!
