Wink Movie Miraculously Converts Nonfan Into Seeker of Star Trek Conventions and More!

Star Trek is having its intended effect -- that is, of proselytizing the word of Trek unto the unwashed masses.

Let me start by saying that I am in no way a “Trekkie.” However after seeing the newest Star Trek movie, I found myself asking a number of questions. First, is there any way that I can get a star fleet shirt? When is the next convention and is there anyone out there who can teach me the Vulcan hand greeting? Star Trek was just that good.
Awesome!

I don't like the tone of the title of this thread nor the description therein.

It makes it sound like Star Trek is a cult and the style of the posting is like a propaganda machine.

We can be positive about the movie's success without making it sound and look creepy to be a Star Trek fan.

I agree. It's not like heaven and earth is being moved to make a fan.

I think if I were being serious, it would be quite creepy. However, I wasn't, and hence the smilies.

Besides, I think you'd only need to read the article itself to be struck by how strangely powerful the movie was on the reviewer.

(But was the reviewer joking? Then, I suppose, it's not so hard to believe that I was, too.)

Yeah! Smilies automatically exempt a post from serious criticism!

Unless deserved, of course.

Only problem I have with this review: he says that Spock is a young Vulcan, not a half Vulcan/Human .... but then, no one's perfect, I guess he really wasn't into Star Trek before this, huh?
