McCoy was kicking around on the Ent-D at 130 as an active serving admiral, no problem there

There are a couple threads already floating around on this topic. I think the writers mentioned that it was supposed to be the Admiral Archer, former captain of the NX-01 who was referenced.

Personally, I think it would've worked better as the original Archer's grandson, but, hey, that's a minor detail.

This still is coming up?

A couple of weeks ago, two of the writers did a chat session on Trekmovie.com, and one thing covered is that it was Archer from ENT. And they justified him still being alive by referencing the Pilot Episode to TNG where Bones was still alive 78 years after TOS era.

True, however that still leaves the dog. Hell it's the future, who knows what technology there'll be. I think it's Archer from Enterprise and Porthos.

I think they said in oneof the interviews that it was a different dog.
