It's the Klingins!!! Run!! Run!!!

I dont know shading networks in Blender but if you can add a very small fractal layer on top of the color channels it would help. Either that or add a very small amount of grain. Parts like the engines look too perfect.

In the past I have tried Blender but never could get the hang of it. Coincidentally I find Maya tedious at times pretty easy. Go figure.

I wont. But actually you can think of D7 and 'warbird' like 688 and 'Los Angeles'. Not exactly but close enough.
