Yep! The Doctor is the Doctor is the Doctor. I don't really care what the Doctor looks like, as long as the Doctor acts like the Doctor.

Spock assumed that this universe unfolded just like his. Nero had exiled him, he had no way of knowing the changes Nero made.

No, it probably wouldn't go over well with the general audience. I'd be fine but a lot of other people wouldn't be. For instance, I ADORE Doctor Donna and I'd have no problem watching her for seasons at a time. I also think Tilda Swinton would make a rockin' Doctor.

If you're on Outpost Gallifrey, I'm sure you've seen the threads on the topic quickly degenerate into jumbled messes.

Yup, Spock didn't realise the timeline had been altered until he met with Kirk.

Because he is beaming down to a planet with erratic gravity readings from the black hole growing at it's core. How easy would it be to fall down in an environment with erratic gravity? Spock is smart, he doesn't kneel like that without reason.

Was Spock even aware of the exact date to begin with? Yeah, he knew he went back in time, but I don't think they ever mention that he was made aware of the exact time. If he knew what the date was to begin with, I doubt he'd assume that Kirk was captain at that moment.

Still, they should've added a twenty-minute scene in the conference room where Spock explains exactly why he knelt down - and then uses an everyday event as a metaphor, to explain it even more clearly - so that we'd have an explanation that the true fans would accept

It comes back to the fact he didn't appear to know what had actually happened when they came through the black hole until he was told.
