Looks like Trek may well hit $250 million domestic box office. I don't know yet what the overseas box office will end up being but my guess is $125-150 million. A total box office gross of $350-400 million will certify it's blockbuster status.

Not to mention the $24 million dollar pricetag FX is now obligated to pay for their four year window to air the film on cable now that the box office gross crossed the $200 million dollar makr.

Last but not least I don't know what DVD profits will be from ST next November but I am guessing $30-50 million dollars minimum.

All in all, it seems to have done a touch better than Nemesis.

I saw Salvation today and it was pretty good, much better than T3. There was one or two things in the film I thought were unnecessary but overall it was good entertainment. Good enough that I'd like to see the storyline followed up with another movie or two.

I would love to see the next Terminator future movie show the future war with the phased plasma rifles like what we saw at the beginning of T2. Bring on the pew pew.

If there are more movies that could/should happen I guess, they should eventually get around to that technology because the future war story has really just begun.

As always I will withhold actual judgment on T4 until I rent the DVD. But I have yet to see anyone that says its a great movie. As for a sequel... unless this one does reeeeeally big on DVD sales I dont see it happening. Perhaps if its half the budget of this one.
