I'm a moderate on the whole Redshirt/Deadshirt issue. We all know that Seaman Ricky, straight out of Boot Camp, or Ensign Ricky, his immediate superior, exist to Feed the Horta. So let's not beat around the bush here; I say, four to five Redshirts have their brains sucked out by the Brain Bug, or get fed into the Maw of the Hungry Horta, or get attacked by a man in a goaltenders' mask with a chainsaw.
Either way, if they're in a red shirt, they're the Walking Dead.

Just to be an extra that is a Red Shirt that dies would be so awesome.
Even though you would not have a single line, you know that you would be a part of Trek History, A Red Shirt...

Maybe you could turn that Red Shirt luck around Sir Num Nums. You could be like Guy from Galaxy Quest. Sure he did die in the series but he got a pretty good role in the movie. Anything is possible in Star Trek.

How does an all red uniform do that?
If they were trying to cover "expanding waistlines" the uniforms would have been all black and shot from the chest up.
