My question is a different kind of tourture--why is this the "official" movie forum? What was wrong with the one we have all been using for years at startrek.com? Isn't it a more logical address to remember?

No offense to startrek.com forum members, but it's not exactly always a welcoming place. This is a good place for a fresh start (and part of CBS/Paramount leaving behind the old startrek.com).

But why leave it behind? It's a great site--has everything any fan could want about the whold ST universe. I agree Derek, not all posts are positive, but everyone has an opinion. What's stopping negative comments from being posted here?

To me what the ships/sets look like are almost secondary to what the script has the characters doing. I don't need to see Kirk/Spock/McCoy imitators, but I hope to see a capturing of the essence of these characters.
Exactly!! People can say what they want about STV but that scene around the campfire?? Was one of my favorite moments ever just because of the main three and the realism portrayed in their years spent as friends.

[quote=Aelora;958]- I want to see the women do more than answer the "phone" and flirt with Kirk. If they're updating the franchise, and we currently have a woman running for president, then that needs to be reflected in the future.

They can still wear mini-skirts, though, right?? LOL

j/k

Oh, I'm all about miniskirts! I never said there was a problem with the original uniforms! If Buffy can slay vamps in a mini, women can certainly explore space in them!

I'm all about looking fashionable while exploring strange new worlds.

You know, Aelora, it's our ability as human beings to accessorize that separates us from other lower forms of life. LOL
