I know there's no mention of of it in the movies or TV shows but has there been any mention anywhere of any of Amanda Grayson's other relatives. Does Spock have any aunts, uncles, cousins, grandparents out there? And would you like to see them? It doesn't have to be a Sybok-type fail neccessarily.

Not much mention was made, but books do mention his family. In the next movie, I'd love for the list of characters to include his grandmother (I'd love to see Doris Roberts take that role)

Amanda has a sister (with her husband and 5 kids) living in a trailer park in Alabama. I'm sure they'd welcome Spock with open arms.

it depends on which way you will go with the character.
if you will go the opposit way as the tv show and make spock more human than vulcan
that is the way to go.
giving spock human relatives would make him much more human and emotional in the eyes of the viewers.
I think it would weaken the concept of spock
beside of that it feels very soapish to me.

As much as Spock was the strongest character of the original series, I always felt short shifted that he was basically A Vulcan despite arguably having a human family and connections. TNG did the duality MUCH better with Worf, who often struggled with his Klingon heritage vs his human upbringing in a way that had real depth and complexity.

As it turns out, complex characters are not necessarily soapy characters.
