I prefer ENGAGE myself.

I have to admit though, I did feel a small rush of adrenaline when Pike said "punch it" when all the Starfleet ships went to warp to go to Vulcan.

I haven't seen the Enterprise go to warp in a very long time as you can imagine. I was so psyched.

Then Sulu made me lose my adrenaline rush by not disengaging the external inertial dampener.

Punch it is a nice line. . . . . . . . Pike delivered it with much Elaan! I loved the way they did the TOS light shine on Pikes face as he sat on the command chair! Totally Retro! Totally Cool!

Punch it. Seems to fit better with the new bullet taking off feeling of the new warp start animation, and with the look of the ship hurtling through warp space, as opposed to just cruising along in a nice stary field with a bit of streak to it.

I LOVE the new warp sound effect. If space-time made a noise while it was being warped by a warp field, THAT is the sound I imagine it would make.

It was SO POWERFUL.

I hope the sound effect guys give that sound clip out for free soon. I think that was favorite new sound effect in the movie.

I think my favorite old sound effect was the sound of the Kelvin's beam phasers. Maybe it was new or improved, but it was still recognizable.

I don't like the burst phaser sound on the enterprise and the hand held phasers.

I guess I have to point out that I ALSO get an adrenaline rush when Picard says "ENGAGE!"

I just think it's more in line with the times and it's a staple soundbyte.

"Punch it" sounds kinda too retro and informal to be a direct order given on a 23rd century flagship.

On another note, I get such a HUGE adrenaline rush when Zephram Cochrane says "LET'S ROCK N' ROLL!" before the Phoenix blasts off. And he also says "ENGAGE!" which was awesome.

I think the flight of the phoenix is my favorite warp flight ever.

When I hear Punch it, all I hear is Han Solo saying "Punch It, Chewie" ... so I prefer either Engage or, as our newest Capt. Kirk said, "Buckle up" !

Yeah, but then Kirk just said "Take us out" as the last line, so we never really get to hear what they plan to have him say when going to warp.

He needs a new catch phrase for it.

I just don't like Engage. It makes me think of engaging the autopilot or something while we just cruise along, and like its just pushing some button and not a big deal. That's boring TNG warp!
