"Barsoom" is in production at PIXAR... it will be the first film from them that combines live action actors with photo realistic CGI ones. No word on the cast yet, however.

Wow! I'd forgotten about that Anthony series. Great stuff but I never finished it. I only read that one and the one about time, "Bearing an Hourglass" I believe it was called. There was a hilarious scene in that one where the main character(Chronos?) made this wife-beating jerk of a guy take a dump backwards...give a dump?...receive a dump?...invade his bowels?!? Anyway funny, FUNNY scene!

Yeah a movie of On A Pale Horse would be awesome!

Nice! Although I vaguely remember rumors about this in development some time ago. Always had a fondness for that book series.

Personally, I don't think there is a lot of "straight" fantasy that is very interesting. Most of it is so very cliche. At least the "popular" fantasy is at any rate (Shannara, Wheel of Time and that ilk). You couldn't even go back to classics like Fafhrd & Gray Mouser now without looking like some rip-off (which is ironic).

Red Sonja is being made with Rose McGowan and Robert Rodriguez so that may be an interesting revitalization.

I liked the fact in the book(s) that no matter what you belived you got (or deserved)when you died.
