I'd suggest that Star Trek V be "The Fanwanky Frontier" since obviously it's not the FINAL Fanwanky.

'Fanwanky' Wow! What a nice little word! You can use it for a noun, a verb or an adjective, kinda like Marklar.

What does "Fanwanky" really mean Zefram? It does sound like a rather interesting word.

No ridges. In TOS ear the non ridge Klingons were dominant.

What is the problem people have with the events of fourth season of ENT?

Bashers complained for three seasons about stuff, Manny Coto finally gets in charge, tries to correct the wrongs that B&B had plagued the show with, and make it tie in more with TOS which the bashers whined there wasn't enough of, and it all gets call "fanboyish" and "fanwankery."

Make up your minds, people!!!
There's a big difference between logically linking the prequel series with TOS and simply throwing together TOS elements in a desperate attempt to remind viewers that the show IS in fact a Star Trek prequel.

Devoting a two-episode arc to something that Roddenberry himself said was a mere budget limitation in the 1960's IS fanwank.

Furthermore this story:

"The Klingons lose their ridges by using the work of the ancestor of the man who created Data and used relics from the Eugenics Wars and Khan-like Superhumans" is totally fanboyish nonsense.

Merely linking everything in Star Trek together does not automatically equate to a good story or an improvement upon Berman and Braga's "Sphere Builders/Xindi/Suliban/Time Travelling/Daniels/Future Guy/Temporal Cold War" storyline which really had no place in a TOS prequel.

As for the argument of "If Abrams respects canon then the Klingons in XI will have smooth heads", it's irrelevant. Canon has been changed whenever it is convienient to do so. The Trill for example changed dramatically from "The Host" (TNG) to "Emissary" (DS9)

Why bog down the NEW movie? The fresh start for the franchise.

Simply to stick to what was established in ENT?

A Trek show that will have been dead for FOUR years when the new movie is released.

A Trek show that to be honest will be remembered mostly by a hardcore fanatical group only.

It's all fanwank anyway. Nothing I've seen on screen or on film is any better than some fanwank I've read.

I like the way they look with ridges, but they changed them in other ways since TOS. They used to seem intelligent and crafty, now they all seem to yell and show off their bad teeth, they seem...dopey.

I will live with whatever they decide, if they even show them.
