From what I have read they are using the first movie as a starting place then working back.

I'm with you, although I am quite psyched about what we've seen so far.

I quite like it. Will reserve final judgement until I've seen more, but for now...thumbs up!

I get the feeling that nacelles will be capped. The impression I get is that because it is under construction, they haven't got around to putting the caps on the nacelles yet.

Agreed.
I hope they will make the Interior not to dark.
Hopefully we see the whole Ship soon in detail.

If you look at it and consider it with red lights (and spinning like it was in the teaser), the caps could end up very very similar.

Simply put it's just going to be a more detailed design of the original. If star trek had the technology 40 years ago to put as much detail as they did on the nx-01. So i'm betting the finshed item will be very nicely made.

I wouldn't mind if the nacelles stay the way the are, but the caps light up and spin once the ship is in flight. While it might be a trick of perspective, I wouldn't be surprised if the nacelles are kind of cigar-shaped (bulbous at one end and then tapering to a point at the end). Who says the Constitution-class wasn't upgraded more than once? I always kind of imagined the design looked very different when it was first introduced anyway...
