Yep....and Holly looks a little young to be fallin' in love with Marshall, eh? LOL! (Couldn't resist, on account of the trailers for the movie.)

I didn't remember how cheesy those shows were. Thought it was awesome when I was a kid.

The budgets for those Saturday morning kiddie shows were very tight. I'm surprised it was as good as it was. Back in the day, It was much easier to suspend my disbelief than it is now, but you know what? I can still manage it. I watched an episode of LOTL today and it wasn't the worst thing I've ever sat through by a long sea mile. The next to the worst perhaps, but not the worst!

I actually bought the first season on DVD as a gag gift for my father a couple years back. I couldn't believe his knowledge of the show considering he was less than ten when it was on.

Say what you like about the show... but the first season was amazing for the time it was produced. When was the last time you saw names like David Gerrold, Norman Spinrad, Larry Niven, Walter Koneig and D.C. Fontanna on a kid's show?
You can snicker these days at the "cheesy" videotape look of the show if you like, but anyone who even attempted doing stop motion animation on a weekly series had some major cajones! I dare ANYONE to come up with a show these days that was as original, and filled with a sense of wonder the way LOTL was back in 1974. (three years before Star Wars premeired, sans any "episode IV" title.) "Dinosaurs on the cheap" my ***!
