Default TOS officially for free?!

Found on trekmovie.com:

"Today the shared owners of Star Trek are making moves in the digital world. First up is CBS who announced they are offering ‘classics’ from their television library to a new “CBS Audience Network” of sites. The initial programming consists of The Twilight Zone, Hawaii Five-O, MacGyver, Melrose Place and (most importantly) Star Trek (TOS). Shows are streamed in their entirety for free, with advertising.
The Star Trek content that is available now is all three seasons of Star Trek The Original Series (non- remastered). Star Trek is the only one of the five initial shows to get the entire series made available, with the rest only offering one or two seasons."

That's very interesting.
They are only making money off the re-mastered videos I suppose.

It's as free as television with the ads are included, it's just a new-ish delivery method. Still, good news though when you're having a canon argument away from home and want to own somebody on something

I saw that today, and was surprised they are doing that. But, I guess since a lot of other shows are like that, then why not. Plus, Paramount is going to Blu-Ray, so I wonder if they will re-issue the remastered episodes?

With HD dead, will paramount host a buy back program for those of us that bought the cgi updated TOS season 1 and offer us a Bluray replacement?

That might be a good idea, scarlet. At least some UPC code discount rebate or such. Of course, a Blu-Ray re-release of Season 1 would cost quite a bit less too since they don't do hybrid discs -- you wouldn't be paying for two copies of every episode this time. Some concession from CBS would be good PR to get fans to complete the series set, for sure.
