Ah you forget this time line diverged from the original during the Kelvin attack, so anything before the attack aka the events of Enterprise happened in both time lines. The borg exist and are on the way. But I think Spock has done enough time travel to realize that telling the Federation about the borg could have unforeseen and dire consequences. better to cut your losses and run rather then go for the big money and wind up mucking everything up.

That's what I'm trying to get at. Who says that if there are other timelines that each of those timelines plays out exactly the same as the rest until some hapless Vulcan comes along and, oops creats a gateway to one of them?

In universe, his people are at a near extinction level. He would be wise to give them, and by extention the Federation any help that he can. Real world, the movie has rebooted the franchise in the vision that they want so I doubt we would see any of that.

Because it's too much power. Plus he can't stop them all from happening and it wouldn't prevent other nasty events happening anyway.

Not even so much political events etc - they have been changed in ways he can't forsee. But technologically he could advance the Federation 129 years overnight. Both militarily and scientifically.

I just don't see that as being a good idea. It destablises the quadrant as the powers are out of technological synch with the advantage the Federation has. The other powers seek to catch up - viola a new Cold War in the alpha quadrant as the Klingons/Romulans and others attempt to counter the advances the Federation makes.

Then you have more conflict, more death and more bad things happening.

I disagree. While he might keep quiet about political events, I don't see him keeping quiet about the supernova that destroyed Romulus. He felt guilty for missing it at the time; he won't want to make the same mistake. And since he is unlikely to live long enough to prevent it (assuming the red matter can't be poured in a hundred years in advance), he'll have to tell someone about it.

See even doing something as seemingly harmless as say warning Star Fleet about the planet killer from "The Doomsday Machine" thus saving the crew of the Constellation from there original destiny (death) could have dire consequences. For example a member of the now alive crew could become a federation diplomat. Unfortunately during peace talks with the Klingons they accidentally offend the Klingon high chancellor's maternal ancestor... leading to interstellar war. In short you cannot predict what changes might occur as a result of reveling future events to people.

In such instances, Spock Prime would "Take a leap of faith" and trust this would not happen. Too many other events are in flux to invoke the Temporal Prime Directive... If the Vulcan crewed Intrepid were out there, would Spock suggest they die "just in case" ? I think not. Spock Prime would also see no logic in allowing the M-5 disaster to repeat so I think he would keep a close eye on Dr. Daystrom.

We will never know. The Cyclonic events Spock will give warning on and thus we will never have a need to see them on screen since these can be handled in some form or other once recognized. Other things will be in too much flux.

Certain old events like Praxis fall into a grey area. If it meant a chance at peace decades sooner, Spock would try to warn the Klingons... On the otherhand, knowing it to have been the catalyst for the Gorkon Initiative, Spock might not choose to throw away his hole card if a hardline anti-Federation faction held sway in the Empire.

Infact, having learned that Kirk was not in command of the Enterprise, and thus seeing that his life had been altered, Spock made a leap of faith in assuming this Jim Kirk would be as successful as the man he remembered.
