Cool Why Do Star Wars Fans Feel the Need ... ?

I guess it must be insecurity that makes some Star Wars fans bash Trek so much. Example: The recent YouTube video of the Death Star "destroying" the Enterprise. It's such a shame, and so childish, too. Trek fans tend to be more tolerant, I think (although there are exceptions).

I'm glad you said there are exceptions, because I've seen several Trek fans accuse Wars of not having any intelligence and substance. I don't understand why it has to be a contest either way. Personally, I like both, although I like Trek more, but that's just me.

I don't know there has to be a competition, either. Both universes are fun. Like you, I like Trek more, and, also like you, I don't go around bashing SW. The world is negative enough without generating more negativity, after all.

It was funny. Others where the tables were turned were also funny. Think of it in the spirit of Alien vs Predator.

Can someone please explain to me posters who reply to questions, or posts with palm to the forehead images. I just don't get this!

What a crock of crap. One tiny little damaged out of control fighter hit the bridge of a Super Star Destroyer, sending it out of control, plummeting into the second death star, where it's destroyed and severely damages the death star, which is taken out totally by of all things, a frieghter that blew it's guts out from the inside. The first death star was taken out by a single lucky fighter, flown by a single lucky kid without even the benefit of his companion droid (which was damaged at the time) for help. Those are some really good ships you got there in Star Wars land, pal.

I love both - always have, always will, but there will always be fans on both sides with nothing better to do with their time than create a phantom war between the two.

Just let the little kiddies play!

Because it's all fanwankery.

Fanboys on either side (Trek or Wars) will go on and on with useless data about how Star Destroyer A might eliminate Constitution class B, or Galaxy Class X might obliterate Death Star Y. I've even done it...and frankly, I find it hilarious.

Fanboys have to justify their fandom with bull****. It is so with Star Trek. It is so with Star Wars... it is so with pretty much all fandoms.

It is so.
