No thanks! A hint or a sub plot but keep the action and fast pace. It worked very well.

I think to complicate things a bit, we should see Uhura warming up to Kirk and Spock getting jealous and not being able to control his emotions anymore and then he attempts the Kolinar in an effort to get rid of the conflict. I think that's good character development right there.

This should just be a side story though, there is no way in hell that could work as the main theme of the film. It should be able to tie in nicely with the main plot though, if it doesn't then it shouldn't be done at all.

A little too soap opera-y for me even as the B story.

There are ways to portray it so that it isn't soap opera-ish. The right dialogue and acting can make a plot element far more enjoyable and more fitting than it's bare premise implies.

I thought I wasn't going to like Scotty's "I like this ship, it's exciting" phrase when I saw it in the trailers. It fit perfectly in the movie though. And I loved it.

Yes, it's true. I've seen them. BTW, there is no way in frak I would ever go see "Star Trek: A love story". If Stephen King, Clive Barker and H.P. Lovecraft all collaborated on a novel, it couldn't possibly be any more horrifying than that title (shudders).

Awe come on!! Even in Zardoz, Sean Connery found love and died happily in the end.Why cant this be a love story that Trek has never seen? Its like exploring the romantic human condition of the 23rd century.

Fine with me, I've seen enough love triangles in real life to know that Trek really needs to do some social commentary on it, that's for sure.

A Spock, Uhura, Kirk love triangle was only hinted at during the first movie. I think it should be explored further.

I don't care if Kirk woos Carol Marcus or any other female in the STU, but if that's all it's about, no starships, no phasers, no Klingons, no strange new worlds, then I will not be buying a ticket, period.
