I thought that Nero was pretty good for the limited screen time he got. And yeas he blows away Shinzon and that guy from Insurrection. Shinzon remined me of a spoiled brat. "No one was ever nice to me so now I'm just going to beat them up." I mean really, I was never sold on his reason for trying to destroy Earth.

That's certainly part of it...they don't feel the need to engage in the formal rhetoric that even James T. Kirk pulls up for conversation. But I also think that they realize that the humans are, in effect, fodder. They speak to them pretty much the way I speak to the crickets we keep to feed our chameleon and frog.

While it's likely they'd never met humans before coming to this reality, they obviously had read about them...so, I don't think they would consider them "animals".

They have the Romulan Superiority, I do agree Eliza. But they are miners on a vendetta. A vendatta they had to wait 25 years to try and complete.
