And whats up with the alien that was tagging around with Scotty? (Star Trek meets Star Wars?) And Spock kissing Uhura....yea right.

I'm not all that impressed with the rating... this system has only been around since January, which means that there will be other films that will easily earn the "perfect 100" considering that "The Dark Knight" was a hella lot more liked film, and that "Iron Man" is roughly equivelant to "Star Trek" in terms of appeal.

I'll stick to my Rottentomatoes ratings.

Because the core characters are there, the basic elements of Star Trek are there and the relationships between key characters are present. You cannot ignore those details, and changing the name with all of those things intact would be ridiculous. We who love the franchise have no other way forward, this is it. If Star Trek is going to survive, sacrifices, changes and adjustments have got to be made. We're here now, there's no going back, the alternate timeline pandora's box has been opened and has proved successful with the general populace. Looking back from here, I don't see how it could have happened too much better than this. If Abrams and co. had to go over all of Star Trek's past, there is no way this film could have been made because not even the old shows got it right all of the time. They did the best they could, and in my opinion, it was pretty darned good.
