When you spend 30 minutes convincing your mother that she needs to see the movie, and actually have links to good reviews on your pooter so you can make her read them all.

When you make the hubby drive you to 3 bookstores to find the novelization cause it was sold out everywhere.

When you realize that your mental pictures of Kirk, Spock, et al, are now pictures of the new actors instead of the TOS actors, and you're fine with that!

You just got off the phone with a consumer relations representative at Burger King's corporate office because you couldn't remember when the Star Trek promotion ended and you really NEEDED to know because you would hate yourself FOREVER if you missed out on the glasses.

(It ends Monday, May 25th, folks!)

ETA: When you actually find the individual numbers for Burger Kings in your city and CALL them to ask what glasses they have and what you need to do to get two sets of them.

You're nearly reduced to tears of panic because it looks like you may have to scrabble to get even ONE set because everyone is sold out or only getting a couple more cases in that DON'T have all four characters.

When, while on the edge of panic with your heart racing, you call your father TWO STATES AWAY and to get the address for the Burger King nearest him, look up the corresponding phone number, call the Burger King TWO STATES AWAY and ask what they have in stock.

You find out that they have all four glasses at this Burger King and customers can just come in and buy however many they want without buying a meal. You're so overjoyed that you start gibbering out your thanks and tell the sales associate how you're calling from Pennsylvania and that you KNOW you're kinda pathetic right now but you really need these glasses and then you loudly proclaim, "OMG I LOVE YOU SO MUCH!" before hanging up. Then you call your dad up with the info and he kindly offers to pick up two sets for you this evening or tomorrow.

Check! I'm having a lot of trouble picturing the right actor when someone says Kirk/Spock/Chekov/etc in relation to TOS. It's just automatically coming up Pine/Quinto/Yelchin. And, as you said, I'm fine with that!

Well, I will have them. My dad's supposed to call me the minute they're in his hands.

My determination knows no bounds.

That is awesome... I still have not gotten the Nero glass... I only had $7 on me after seeing the movie for the first time... BKs or other fast food joints are not so common in my area anymore, there is only one near my parents home. I'm back near LAX... there one down the street... will go pick one up tomorrow. I'm debating if I should buy a second set... or just use the one I have... I'm not big on the "mint condition" thing. Also I have no where to put them. I don't want to use my glasses yet because my kitchen is too crowded with roommates... don't want them to use them and drop them.

You know you are a fan if your spine tingles as if grabbed by a transporter beam when you hear the first note of the Star Trek theme before Spock says "Space..."

Oh I don't have anywhere to put them either but I'm buying them anyway. Eh, I'll work on my space issues later. Just like I'm ordering more toys on Tuesday and I have no where to put those either. They're on my bookcase at the moment, which is unfortunate because between that and Harry Potter stuff, I have two less shelves for the many, many books that I have so now I'm out of space for the books too! I would have enough space if one of my bookcases hadn't broken in half when I moved (note to others: If you buy bookcases from Target, try not to drop them down a flight of wooden stairs. They WILL break.)

I need to buy a cheap display cabinet at some point if I can find one.
