Well, compared to Japanese Scifi like Ghost in the Shell the new Star Trek movie of course won't make any dent.

But is there any other explanation for the tiny Japanese market?
I always assumed Scifi had a quite good standing in Japan.

I've got Furuta series 2, wave 1 is extremely expensive(therefore futile to even try) to get and I didn't get wave 3. Now that Mattel is making Star Trek ships I most likely won't buy JDM(japanese domestic market) Star Trek ships. To my knowledge neither japanese company has anything star trek in the works.
