In the 23 century they know how to bring back actresses from the dead so they can play fictional characters invented in the 1960's.

Hopefully the timelines derailed before the whales became extinct...I'm trying to remember if we ever learned that. I suppose the fact that Kirk remembers the whales are extinct, we might conclude it happened in his lifetime.

Its not at all complicated. Just remember in the prime universe Amanda Grayson, played by Jane Wyatt, who is dead, is still alive and the still hot living Winona(not Judd)Ryder(Rider?)Amandabrams G.(visa x versa to the smallest delta-T of differential)'s passed on thoughstilleversofondlyremeberedandlikelytobeflash edbackeduponunlessshefivefingerdiscountsomemorelac yundergarmentsor somehowendedupinaorratherthenexuswithShatKirkwhichcouldeasilyleadto, ummmm...

Just sit right back and you'll hear a tale,
A tale of a five year trip,
They warped along to boldly go,
Aboard their well-armed ship.

That was off the top of my head but I'm sure someone must have continued that song Trek-style with better words than I.

Sorry VC. Didn't mean to cause vision problems. I've been a bad Trekkie!
