Even in "space seed" there was a line about it being pure happenstance that the Enterprise found the Botony Bay in the first place. With this altered universe... they may never find it at all! It could just keep drifting through space for hundreds of years, until all the sleeper units failed and it became a "ghost ship" manned by dried up, leathery mummies... like the ones tourists pay to see in Mexico.
