Saquist-
That itself is a joke on De. De used to play bad guys in westerns of the era, he also played "Doc" Holiday in a film. Gene thought it would be funny, so it was used. It aslo had the added benefit of helping people relate to westerns. The western was king in the mid-60's.

If thats true I hope this movie bombs big time, Bring Back TNG or at least have a hybrid crew from TNG,DS9 & VOY I feel sorry for ENT because chronolologically they can't join in unless they do some sort of TCW type story which probally wouldn't be much fun

Klingons in this period can look both Human and traditional Klingon, I think Enterprise sorted this out quite neatly. But if there are Klingons in the new film it would be interesting to see both types together.

The TNG movies could have been alot better (with the exception of First Contact.)

A Voy movie just wouldn't work, but a series of TV movies would, showing what happend to the crew.

A DS9 movie could work, but it'd have to be 3-4 hours long to explain everything.

A TNG/ENT movie could work if it was done on a Holodeck. No more time travel please!!

Time Travel is only bad when it's not thought out properly Endgame and The Voyage Home are clear example of this, I have to say I despise holdeck adventures, not all of them but they get on my nerves, I prefer time travel

At least the Holodeck isn't as played out as "time travel." The show is Star Trek, not Time Trek. I think even the producers forget this.

Endgame wasn't that well thought out, lots of plot holes the size of the Bajoran Wormhole, but it wasn't that bad either.

Trek 4 was the only way (at the time) they could make a "lighter adventure" than the pervious 2 films and get the charaters out of "trouble". It payed off by getting non trek fans into the theatres.

Generations was time travel, First Contact was time travel...besdies the multiple DS9, VOY, ENT episodes that dealt with time travel. That does not include the TOS, TAS, TNG time travel episodes.

Ship appearing from another time was well done in the TNG episode "Yesterday's Enterprise" anything like that would just be a retread.

Now I know that will never happen, but I think I needed to put that out in the open!
But seriously, if this movie does not have sex appeal then it is going to be a dud. Remember, every Star Trek had its amazingly good looking actress..
