I notice that to .....How could the Kelvin have 800 or more crew that would mean it could hold only 200 less than Enterprise D. and during the Kelvin Attack it was still in the old time line so no one can blame that.

Well, just musing but...

Crew quarters on the D were more generous than past ships. Remember in TUC we saw junior officers sharing what seemed to be the equivalent of dorms on the Excelsior (or was it Enterprise? Not sure now but it was one of them), maybe 4 or so to a space.

If that was common practice and only more senior officers had quarters of their own etc then a smaller ship could accomodate more people because they all have to share space.

actually in the shot against the sun we only see 12 ships..(and before people get snippy) i am at a santikos theatre now..(i used to be a theatre manager but still have freinds who let me hang out..and see whatever movies i want whenever... ) so hanging out with my freinds in the booth right now we ran it up a few times.. and i only count 12... So.. obviously.. there are many more that we just can't see.. any other questions on specifics? let me know.. i will check it out... k thanx bye...

I'm not being difficult - but I did count 20 myself on the second watch, I have to say.

well i am here staring at it... again.. (right now) and count 12... (possibly 13 as there looks like a couple side by side at the bottom left...) i can try to take a screenshot.. (but it will be really fuzzy....) ;-)

Are you catching the ones that emerge from behind others and the 4 that are not in front of the star etc?

ok the shot starting at 10 minutes 14 seconds into the movie (right at the last shot of kirks mother ) cuts to the narada and ships silhouted against the sun.. there is debris coming from the narada... (watching it these last few times.. we are going frame by frame... ) two quickly leave the scene..(but right on the edge it looks like more...) so the ones i am counting .. the MOSt visibly on screen is 15 .. the shot ends at 10:28 and fades into the logo..... so i think we are just seeing the tail end of the shuttles escaping... and yes others do look MUCH bigger than some...
