Uh, no. Here's another right here!

But that aside , I was very impressed with Pine's Kirk after wondering how I'd like it. He doesn't look much like Shatner, not like Quinto resembles Nimoy or Urban somehow made himself into a clone of Kelley. The first time I saw it, I thought his performance was good enough, and was blown away by the others. The second time was when I noticed just how many mannerisms of Shatner's Kirk he had managed to internalize. It was uncanny! And it also made me think how much the writers had channeled Kirk, because the dialogue was so dead-on what Kirk would say. And any differences can easily be attributed to his being much younger than Kirk was when we first met him in TOS.

I think Pine did a good job. I'm interested to see how in the sequels he handles the weight of command as shown in the the 1st season that Shatner expressed so well.

Chris Pine is fantastic. He looks nothing like William Shanter, but he make Kirk a very believable character and what he always is, energetic, likes to flirt with ladies, and immature. His performance is wonderful, i enjoyed it.

Just as good as the original Kirk.

You are absolutely right - I was speaking in TOS terms. Mr. Stewart was, indeed, a wonderful captain of the Enterprise. And a hottie to boot!

Yes Chris Pine is gorgeous but I think William Shatner was nice when he was in Star Trek

seeing the film a second time just confirmed for me how right Pine was for the role not only did he make Kirk his own but there are moments where he really resembles Shatner in the way he moves and speaks. I also really felt the chemistry between Quinto's Spock and Pine's Kirk, the last scene where Kirk accepts him as first officer was great and some of their earlier scenes together too where very special. I like the way Spock Prime has a big impact on both of them in developing their friendship.

here are a couple "Shatner as Kirk" moments for me:

1) At the shipyards: "Four years? I'll do it in three"
2) On the Narada, stealing the Jellyfish: "Spock; It'll work!"
3) At the end, when Kirk comes on board the bridge, and stops for a moment: "Bones!"
