It's very hard to FILL Kirk's shoes, of course.

Chris did a very good job playing Kirk. At first I did not accept him, but then quite a few times during the movie when the camera angle was just right and he had certain expressions I was finally convinced he does look like a young Shatner at some moments.

You cannot expect the entire cast to look like everyone younger as well as Spock did.

GREAT REBOOT!!! I WANT MORE!!!

I am going back tomorrow night to see the film again and I intend to watch Kirk very, very carefully! HaHa!

I'm going back next weekend for my sixth time! Just a regular theater screen this time. I'm lucky because my sis is willing to go again, so she'll be with me.

In IMAX, I noticed the cute fuzz on Chris Pine's tummy (his *ahem* Happy Trail) when Spock throws him over the console just before he tries to choke him. I was very pleased.

I'll stop right there before I get myself in trouble. LOL

It's about time we had a good actor play the captain of the Enterprise.
I especially liked Pine's swagger and confidence - he never came off like he was an elitist, just that he knew he was smarter than most other people.

The thing is, I'm nowhere near the records set by a few other people on this board.

Three times at my local theater on a regular screen and twice this weekend in IMAX. My sis and I went down the shore to Atlantic City, NJ just so we could get the best IMAX screen possible in the Tropicana casino. Their theater is all new and pretty and plush. Fortunately, we found a room overnight on Friday there for only $109 but it's a little sad that, by and large, the whole point of the trip was just to see the movie twice in IMAX. I can't believe she agreed to it! We budgeted our paychecks carefully to do it. I've never gone this far for a movie before, let alone seen one so many times in the theater.

Ah well, Star Trek is worth it.

We did help stimulate NJ's economy by losing a couple hundred dollars on the penny slots, though.

Well I think that Patrick Stewart was marvellous as Picard.
I truely never imagined that Shatner's Kirk could be recreated.....I was wrong. Pine has done a wonderful job!
