Default A line from Spock (R we still posting as spoilers? SPOILER!)

There are all sorts of... I won't call them "easter eggs"...but all kinds of NODS to other Trek stuff in this new movie. Some of them so obscure, I wonder if they are are by accident.

When Spock is talking to Bones on the bridge about how he marooned Kirk on that planet and Bones tells him he should at least act like he cares, etc, Spock says something about maybe Bones would have him wandering around the halls of the ship crying. Well, in the original script for TOS episode "The Naked Time" (the epsiode where everyone lost their marbles), the script called for Spock to do just that. Wander around the corridors of the Enterprise crying. Leonard Nimoy would have none of it! He fought and fought and fought and said Spock would NOT do that, that he would find a private place to release emotions... and we got the great scene where he did just that.

Anyway, I found that interesting. Thanks for reading.

Great point...I thought the same thing...I was thinking just wait Spock your day will come. Also did you catch the 3 or 4 bars of the classic Spock music when he finds out from Chekov what the drill was doing to Vulcan. It was subtle but evident...

Finally! Someone as anal as me! Yes, I did catch that. I think there may have been a couple of other musical clues as well, I'll have to re watch and pay attention to the music only.

Star Trek 6 reference: Spock and Kirk walking thru wind and snow while the camera circles overhead with similar music as when Kirk and McCoy were walking thru wind and snow on that prison planet.

Another one... Kelvin's Capt asks Papa Kirk to, "Walk with me." This line was used a couple of times in the "Reunification" episode with Spock in TNG. Spock says it to Picard.

Another: During the scene where all the young Vulcans are studying in their "pits", we see an animation of a whale, ala ST4.

Did you choke on something-- You are right, the composer used quite a bit of Klingon language in the score of that film.

I've got to try and find R2D2 tomorrow night - and I'll be looking for the whale too!
