Default Wait, how can Spock be half human/half Vulcan?

Organisms of different genus are unable to sexually reproduce. For example, a dog can't have sex with a cat and then have offspring.

Vulcans and Humans are two different species from different worlds. How is it biologically possible for Spock to be half human and half Vulcan?

Obviously the genetic material is compatible. As I recall it's the sperm shape that signals the egg that it is OK to let it implant. It would seem that Vulcan and Human gametocytes are compatible.

Anyway I think you answered your own questionsame: same genus different species

Now quit thinking so hard. It's bad for the soul.

Spock went back in time and genetically engineered himself, but was soon killed by a pursuing cyborg Romulan dubbed "The Terminator". But don't worry, Spock will come back for the sequel.

Yep. That's a canon part of cross-species reproduction in Trek, from Deep Space Nine onwards. We can assume it applied in the Original Series too, since without it cross-species reproduction, especially across worlds, makes no justifiable sense whatsoever

How can Spock be half human and half vulcan? Easy, his dad is a vulcan and his mom is a human.

Simple question, simple answer.

Humanoid genetic material was seeded across the Galaxy by a race of progenitors. See 'The Chase', TNG. Of course millions of years of evolution would probably still screw that explanation up, but it's something at least.

ENT explained a little of it during the "Demons"/"Terra Prime" two-parter. Terra Prime used DNA from Tucker & T'Pol to create a binary clone, their daughter who they name Elizabeth. When she dies, it is initially believed that it was because of incompatability between Human/Vulcan DNA, but Phlox finds out that she died because of the cloning process. Because he had to do an autopsy on her, he discovers that there is no medical reason why a Human & Vulcan can't reproduce...
