I agree! some great thoughts on here and boy I'd like to dive into the episode tonight but may want to wait to make sure others saw it. Lots of interesting revelations with the cylons.

I'm new here in the forums, and I am amazed about the high amount of messages posted here every day. I have searched for "Battlestar Galactica" and I found a lot of posts containing the word... I'd like to discuss something about BSG and Star Trek, don't know exactly where, so I start this new thread.
First of all, I must say that I love Sci-Fi and that my favourite Sci-Fi shows are Star Trek, from TOS to ENT. But I realize that, except for some Star Trek movies, Star Trek shows are mainly seen by Star Trek fans or "general" Sci-Fi fans. I think the same happened with the original Battlestar Galactica. However, the new BSG series is much more... let's say "mature". A good Sci-Fi background (much simpler than Star Trek's one, but good), deep characters, a good "retro-modern" ship... Thanks to this, even people who dislike Sci-Fi, likes BSG. I mean, BSG is good Sci-Fi and BSG is seen by a "general" public. On the contrary, Star Trek is an excellent Sci-Fi show, but mainly directed to Sci-Fi fans, not to general public. Why do you think this happens? I really think that new Star Trek series should take Battlestar Galactica as an example of how Sci-Fi can reach a wide audience. Anybody has the same opinion? |
