Question Hey Johnny! (spoiler)

In the scene featuring "Sabotage" with Young Kirk stealing the antique car, after releasing the top, we see him approach a young Hitchhiker (an underhanded Abrams reference no doubt). He yells "Hey Johnny!" as he passes the kid, who watches the police in pursuit.

Now... does anyone have any speculation as to what kind of reference that could be? With all the tongue-in-cheek humor and TOS references in the new film, I figured there shouldn't just be a character thrown in there for him to holler at without there being significance. My only theories so far were:
1) The Decker Unit (until i found out his name is Will)
2) John Archer
3) What is finnigan's first name?

Theories on Johnny anyone?

Some have said he yelled "Hey Georgie", as in George Samuel Kirk, his brother. I will have to pay closer attention the next time I see it.

Nearly the same is discussed here ...

"Jonny" may have been "Georgie" if some scenes hadn't ended up on cutting room floor. Reading the Novel it actually was "Georgie (Samuel Kirk)"

Alright, thanks. Spent all night trying to research the relevance of the name johnny. Georgie would make much more sense.

Darnit! I'll have to watch for that on Friday. I could have sworn he said Johnny. That's on my list of things to look for now, as well as the ship dropping out of warp when they eject the warp core.
