Red face If you wrote for Enterprise & could turn back time, what ONE change would you have?

What ONE change to Enterprise would you have made, if you could turn back time? Would you change one episode, on particular scene, an entire season, or character...other?

I'd make season 4 season 2.

Season 4 was one of the best seasons in all of Star Trek, IMO

I think the point of Enterprise should have been to explain history as they did with season 4 (Eugenics Wars, Klingon ridges, founding of Federation, etc...) The 3 episode story arcs were really good ideas

Enterprise was meant to be a prequel and prequels should explain history.

And as much as I like the name Enterprise, it could have been named something else, so it didn't conflict with what we already knew, but to me that isn't as big of issue.

There's my two cents

I'm not a writer but I would hire Manny Coto (who did a good job in season three and four) to be the head executive producer and start this series again in season 1, he single-handedly gave us what a prequel should be.

Definitely change the uniforms, not a big fan of Navy submarine uniforms.

This is easy. Trip would not have died....

Going for the not as easy....I would have tried to go more for the outer limits-twilight zone type plots and kept the dialog less banal and cliche.
Okay...that was cheating

Can't believe no one has said this yet: I would definitely have redesigned the Enterprise! I mean come on! It looks good to say the least, but it doesn't fit into continuity AT ALL! I think it should look more like the "Bonaventure" class from the Ships of the Line book. That ship design was sweet and definitely looked like a good transition from Archer's time and Kirk's, imo...

I would have kept the Ferengi and Borg out of the show by getting Manny Coto to write from the start.

The Xindi crap would have only lasted up to 4 episodes, although it was cool to finally see a starship get at butt kicked and stay that way for a while.

I would have also made the character Tripp a little less country and a little more city.

The ship design was fine, I think most people expected a 60's theme, lame...

I would have changed "Broken Bow."

Set the series in 2101, used a more primitive looking "ringship" Enterprise, and dealt with things closer to Earth or within Sector 001. No Klingons, no Romulans, no Borg, no Ferengi, and definitely no Temporal Cold War. The only major aliens would have been Vulcans and Andorians and the serious villians would have been the Orions from the very beginning. Instead of Starfleet Command, there would have been Earthfleet Command, and the crew would still be using guns like today with laser weaponry only just coming into widespread use. Transporters aren't even being thought of, and subspace visual communication is limited to only a light-year, but audio can go many times farther.

The crew would have remained the same--but T'Pol would not be the first officer, only a civilian Vulcan scientist, and Phlox would have been a Human from Alpha Centauri who knows really nothing of Earth society.

And "Faith of the Heart" would have been an instrumental only or something more orchestral.

I surprisingly agree with much of Sir Nums post.
But Of Course i would have gone further.

I would have surely kept the 24th century species out of the mix.
I would have focused on exploration and First contact situations that would eventually

Lets say I was the Producer of the Show....not just the writer...

I would have named the show...simply...The Final Frontier.
The Akira-prise would certainly be gone. I would have used the USS Mosscow class from Star Trek's Space Chronology book. I'd name it Discovery in honor of 2001 Space Odyssey.

The First episode would have been about a freak accident on the way to a rescue with a Vulcan escort and in the process of attempting to rescue both ships the Discovery suffers an failure of the inertial dampners and is not able to disengage from warp without killing all aboard. But Discovery can't remain at warp forever and the Vulcan, Discovery and Earth must work together to bring the ship from warp.

In the end they end up further than any other has been from Earth.

I agree with the Commodore, although really I think that the music was suitable for the show, but yes, it was not very Trekkish at all. That premise could prove to be extremely boring without much trouble at all.
