Default Trials and Tribble-ations

Since last November I've been getting the DS9 DVD's through Netflix. I never used to care for DS9 but recently got interested in the series after seeing a few synopses of episodes that looked interesting. I for one love time travel and alternate reality stories.

So I got Season 5 Disc 2 this weekend and watched the Tribbles episode, where the crew is thrown back to the TOS "Trouble with Tribbles" episode. I thought it was a really cool and creative show, putting the characters into the background of actual scenes from the original show. Back in 96 that must have been a pretty big challenge to do something like that and make it look believeable. There were a few places where it didn't quite look real, but for the most part it looked good.

So far this is one of my favorite DS9 episodes.

*edit* the girl in the turbolift saying "your flap is open" to Bashir was just hilarious.

That's the only episode of DS9 that I've watched multiple times. Indeed, it's a classic and certainly the best of that series.

I just hate that the DVD extras on the last disc of each season have given away quite a few things, namely about Dax and Sisko. I'm not there yet and I don't wanna know!

That's the one episode my mom was willing to watch with me. She loved it! Man, seeing that episode and Star Trek with my mom was so rad! Hahaha!

Then you should watch the special features after you see all the episodes. It's like watching a movie with commentary before seeing the movie on it's own.

Yes the commentary perhaps it will explain why they destroyed Star Trek.

Interesting.... DS9 is my favourite Trek series, but mirror universe episodes were among my least favourite. I think TOS did the mirror universe much better and more convincing.

T&T was indeed a lovely and very funny episode.

But I would never call it my favourite DS9 episode... it is nothing like a typical DS9 episode, so I suppose many people who are otherwise not into DS9 could like it. But it is kind of like saying Small Potatoes is your favourite X-Files episode.

I was a latecomer to DS9 as well. I'm still catching up. However, T&T has been my favorite so far. It's up there among my favorite episodes of all time.
