Create an entirely new enemy that we haven't seen before.

I'm pretty sure there would be at least one vulcan out there who would want a little revenge. Anyone agree?

I hear that. And I'd love to see the impact that XI had on Vulcan society.

I can certainly see the Klingons being involved in some way, since at this point in history, they are a major adversary of the Federation -- and the KM test proves that's carried over into this universe likewise.

I don't expect to see any major story point involving Khan, Ferengi or Cardassians. Tholians perhaps, but I was never that into them myself.

You know, I actually expect to hear rumblings of a Klingon-Romulan war, given how the Narada nommed on the Klingon fleet.

I agree, there's a lot of potential for this, but please God, no more "what does God need with a starship?" movies

Yeah. In times of uncertainty, extremists prey.

I'd like a new giant 'villian' like V'Ger or the Whale Probe. As well as a primary villian who is genuinely evil(as subjective as I can imply that word).

I think movies in general work better with two main villains, a primary and a secondary.(Joker and Harvey Dent), (Saruman and Sauron), (Vader and Palpatine).

Three or more main villians is when it all seems to fall apart so they should avoid that at all costs. (I'm looking at you X-Men 3, Spiderman 3).

The inconic giant spacecraft/aliens in Star Trek would be the secondary villains as they aren't really villians to begin with, they're just misunderstood.

And then to contrast that there would be a complex primary villian to move the story along.

I think they should maybe leave the Vulcan colonials out of the next movie, I think it would be too much and if we revisit them right after their planet got destroyed I think it would have a "too soon" effect on a lot of people. They can be revisited more in the 3rd installment if necessary. (maybe in the 3rd installment they could come to the aid of the Federation in some way?)

I want the crew of the Enterprise to REALLY go exploring this time around. It's a good thing the end of the first movie hinted that the Enterprise would NOT play a part in the mission of the Vulcan colonials. So I'm not too concerned about it.

I definitely think maybe a Klingon as the primary villian would be welcome. I just hope the complexity in the villain is upped a notch so they don't look like 2 dimentional characters like in most of TOS and the majority of the movies. That way it's still somewhat new and fresh, but still touches on some of the old stuff that works.

I'm hoping that we see Kirk's, Bones's and Spock's friendship grow immensely in the second movie, and I think it would be somewhat tragic and poignant if Spock embraced more of his logical side and sort of "breaks up" with Uhura. Not that I didn't enjoy the twist in the first movie, I did, but I just don't think that the relationship is gonna last. I don't think it would last very long in real life either, so that's my reasoning for having it as part of the next movie if possible.

I'm gonna watch the movie again soon, so I'll be back with more ramblings later.

Also, I hope Admiral Pike becomes head of Starfleet Academy and Tyler Perry isn't heard of ever again.

I'm also very interested in seeing how J.J. would revise the klingons. Bumpy, no, or other.
