Default We Need A Name....

I just thought of something. Each variation of Star Trek has it's own abbreviation to quickly and clearly identify it. We all know the original series is "TOS" and The Next Generation" is "TNG". Voyager is "VOY", etc, etc.

Now we have a situation where we essentialy have two of "TOS". The original original series and the new one.

Since the new one is in an alternate universe how about we call it "TOSAU"?

I agree with your concept, althouth TOS does imply quite literally, the original series.

I think I'd like STAU better, but that's just me.

Just go really simple:

TOS: The Original Series

AOS: Alternate Original Series

Armalarm,

I like "AOS". It keeps it simple and consistent with the other abbreviationas just having three letters. Let's see what people think or if anyone has a better idea.

Although theres something about refering to this as anything "original series" irks me, but I think you need to.

Either AOS could stand for:
Alternate Original Series
OR
Abrams Original Series

AST: Alternate Star Trek....

Its not a series yet (cross your fingers) and it will most likely be in theaters longer than coming back to TV. When does come back to TV the series created would most likely not have the motion picture cast in it. So that series would need it's own Identity as 'alternate'.

My Thoughts... I'm open minded.
