So I'm watching TOS episodes tonight... trying to imagine how new young Kirk developed into the Kirk we know of old... very cool, very interesting.. fun food for thought... Can't wait for the sequel lol :P

Agree completely, just bought the first season on Blu-Ray, waiting for the sequel just to hear "Spock... we have... to get out of here!", hopefully they throw it in.

Kirk in the original series was very mature, no nonense kind of a guy I think but this young Kirk will mature through the sequels isn't that a possibility?

I wouldn't consider spreading Tellarite syphillis throughout half the quadrant as very mature, I wouldn't consider giving a sh*t about all the security officers under your command as very no-nonsense.

Sorry to burst your bubble guys, but we're dealing with two developmentally different Kirks, from the film and tv series. Different histories, character development, etc. Didn't you read the memo?

Plus, i don't think J.J. is interested in character development or continuity issues with the original TOS Kirk, that's why he developed his own universe.

Like it or lump it this Kirk will ultimately inherit the same attributes of the Prime Kirk even if the route there is different, just like most of the other characters will. He already demonstrated several of them in the new film and that will only continue.
