I feel the last season of Enterprise was the best and wish it would have kept going. Manny Coto did great (and I put a homage to him in the first level of Star Trek: Legacy).
What do you think?

If it was canceled after third season, I'd say it was too late.
But fourth season was really good, and if they could have maintained that level, it would be a respectable Trek series at very least, in my opinion.

If you look at all four seasons as a whole, id say that it should never have happened. If you look at just season 4 (and parts of 3) then id say keep it.
Season 4 was rather excellent but the first 3 seasons ruined its image and in some ways Star Trek's image so i dont think it deserved another season. However Manny Coto did indeed do a nice job and that was nice wot you did in homage of him in Legacy.

Yeah, it's really a shame it got canceled. Season 4 had some top-notch episodes. And now we know what might of popped up in season 5, stuff like the Kzinti, Guinan and the cloud city... it just aggravates me that it got canceled when so much was on the horizon.

Tricky poll.
The thread title says, "Was it cancelled too soon?" And when you get into the thread, the poll has two options, no, and yes, so you assume that the question is the same as the thread title. I almost voted incorrectly on accident. As far as my opinion on Enterprise: I watch (at least) an episode every night. Season 3 was superb. Season 4, although mostly fanboy stories, was almost as good. I think season 4 should have dealt with human xenophobia even more. Demons/Terra Prime were sort of lame episodes, but I like the idea of flawed humans in the perfect future. Had the show gotten three more seasons, they would have had plenty of time for episodes that connected back to previous ones. Did they ever go back and rescue that ship they stole the parts from in the expanse? ![]() |

I completely agree with Raiden,
the first 3 season were just trash, the whole "temporal cold war" was such an unbelievable childish trash!! All this timetravel sucked, and I am sincerely hoping, they don“t do it in the upcoming movie! It would just be to illogical! |

Would have been nice to have seen the Kzinti episode as previously mentioned but then again its being used for New Voyages now so its just about as good.

Enterprise should never have been made. Neither should Voyager. I'm not against the shows per se, but Trek should have been rested for a while before any new shows were made or at least handed to a new production team.
Voyager and Enterprise showed the creative team were losing their creativity and, even in its better fourth season, Enterprise was becoming too much of a show about Star Trek, rather than an actual Star Trek series. |

I agree. Enterprise didn't really 'capture' me, so to say, until season 4, which I think is one of the best seasons of all of Trek.

Based on Seasons 3 & 4, Paramount's decision to "cut and run" was harsh. Parts of other seasons were good too and maybe I just didn't appreciate it, coming so soon after Voyager.
It would be nice to see a cast reunion somewhere down the road, although I expect an entirely new setting gets priority when Star Trek returns to TV. |
