One thing I must ask. Did anyone notice that when Kirk, Sulu and Olsen went Sky Diving down to the screwhead, that Olsen was a "Red Suit"? And they was on an away team and he was the first to die?

I just saw the film again today and I finally got to see AND hear Scotty's tribble. The Narada's interior was like a Batcave for smaller starships. Only one of them looked familiar to me though. I swear, it looked exactly like the female shaped ship that Richard Thomas's character flew in "Battle Beyond The Stars". I also saw the TOS communicators on personell aboard the Kelvin.

They looked like K'tinga class battlecruisers (D-7 refit/upgrade) to me as well. I'll have to freeze frame that scene too when I get the DVD. I'm a flippin' ship fanatic.

I was not consciously looking for Easter Eggs however I did notice a couple of things I have not seen listed yet…
Kirk about to die unless someone could get the transporter to work… (Doomsday Machine) Shuttle Craft at the academy named “Gillian”… (Star Trek IV) “I have been and ever shall be… your friend”… (Star Trek II and III)

I'm surprised the super obvious star trek II ripoff hasn't been mentioned yet. Nero putting the critter into pikes mouth, it even looked like the ceti eeel that Khan used in TWOK, and had a similar function.

It looked and acted more like the brain-controlling insects that were nameless in the TNG episode "Conspiracy", no? Down to the little pincers...

Edit: I made an incorrect assumption. TWOK could possibly take place in the new timeline, I was in error.

There's an updated, yet the familiar hum, when the ship goes in and out of warp.
